This Privacy Policy explains how DGS App Studio ("we", "us") handles information in connection with the Dharma Path mobile application ("the App"). Dharma Path is designed to be offline-first and privacy-respecting: it works primarily on your device and collects as little data as possible.
Data we collect
Dharma Path is built to minimize data collection. Specifically:
- Content you read and bookmark is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to us.
- App preferences (such as language, text size and theme) are stored locally on your device.
- Basic diagnostic and usage data may be collected in aggregated, anonymized form to help us fix crashes and improve the App, only if analytics are enabled (see Third-party services).
We do not require you to create an account, and we do not collect your name, contact details or precise location.
How we use data
Any limited data we process is used only to:
- Operate the App and remember your preferences on your device.
- Diagnose crashes and technical problems.
- Understand aggregate usage trends to prioritize improvements.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising profiles.
Permissions
Dharma Path requests only the permissions necessary for its features. Where the App needs a permission (for example, notifications for festival reminders), it will ask for it in context, and you can decline or revoke it at any time in your device settings.
Third-party services
We may use reputable third-party services for crash reporting and anonymized analytics (for example, Google Play services). These providers process limited technical data under their own privacy policies. If and when such services are enabled, they are configured to avoid collecting personally identifying information wherever possible.
Data storage & security
Your reading history, bookmarks and preferences remain on your device. We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect any data we do handle. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we work to safeguard your information.
Children's privacy
Dharma Path is suitable for a general audience and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us so we can address it.
Your rights
Because most data stays on your device, you can clear it at any time by clearing the App's data or uninstalling the App. For any request regarding data we may hold, contact us and we will respond in line with applicable law.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the App evolves. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you within the App.
